Upon arrival in country, I flew Huey's in the "Lift" Platoon until 2nd week of Lam Son 719 - then sent to the "Gun" Platoon. Initially flew alot with Skip Barger, Fred Blanchard, and roommate Jeff Bavar.
Lived in the "slick hootch" along with Fred Blanchard and others. Hopkins, Larry Dunagan, and Mark Lee were a few of the names I flew with as a "front seat bullet catcher".
When Hopkins left, he gave me his call sign and I became
"Charlie Horse 43".
Have heard fron Wayne Frobes, "Charlie Horse 11", along
with numerous others.
