Captain Joe B. Duncan, War Wagon 19, died on December 20, 2009. 
Joe was being treated for cancer at the time of his death.

  Joe was commissioned as an infantry officer at Fort Benning, Georgia in October, 1967.
After an assignment to Fort Carson, Colorado he completed rotary wing flight training and Cobra transition prior to deployment to Viet Nam.

Captain Duncan was assigned to D Troop 3 / 5 Cavalry in Dong Tam, flying Cobras and Light Observation Helicopters as  an Aero Scout in support of the 9th Infantry Division from Feb. 28, 1969 until Feb. 27, 1970.

 Joe was then assigned as an Instructor Pilot and later became a Flight Commander at P.H.T.C. Fort Wolters, Texas. 
Captain Duncan completed his military service on January 31, 1973.

 Captain Joe Duncan was recognized numerous times for bravery,
receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and V device.

After leaving the Army Joe was employed in the liquor distribution business in Dallas, Texas until his retirement in March 2006.
   Prior to retiring he bought a home at Lake Whitney, Texas where he enjoyed the view of the lake from his deck and boating.



Joe never married and leaves behind two brothers, many friends, and a lot of smiling ladies.
